Hello

Greetings from Heron House!

After years of traveling and looking for the right place to call home, we finally decided to settle down in the charming town of Hoi An to start our first project. Heron House was truly love at first sight for us and now, after opening Villa Iliou as well just next door, we are even more proud to welcome you to our little special corner of Hoi An.

Our host Loic and his lovely wife Van Anh made us feel totally welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them or their lovely staff. Heron House is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. It has lovely big bedrooms and huge comfy beds. The decor is beautiful and everything is absolutely spotless. The views from the bedrooms across the rice fields are gorgeous. Watching the sun set over the fields is magical, especially with one of Loic’s cocktails to aid relaxation! It is extremely quiet and peaceful no noisy motorbikes roaring past. We used the HH bicycles to ride to the beach and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the empty roads around the fields. Unprepared as usual Van Anh came to our rescue with Aloe Vera lotion after our sunburnt little bodies enjoyed a bit too much sun. For a bit of variety they arranged for us to visit a herb farm where we spent a morning learning to prepare some fabulous Vietnamese dishes which was well worth the getting up early to visit the market with the chef to choose some ingredients. I cannot recommend Heron House enough. Everything you want is there from fluffy towels and the wine fridge in your room to funky pool inflatables and if it’s not there just ask your hosts and they’ll provide it.

We were so very fortunate to be able to stay at Heron House the night of our wedding, and I also stayed the night before. Getting ready for our wedding day in such a picturesque setting was just amazing!

We loved the music playing throughout the house, the delicious jug of Bellini and Loic’s peri peri chilli oil. The pool also served the purpose of calming the nerves, the night before, & for reminiscing the day after.

We can’t thank Loic and Van enough & will definitely be coming back some time!
