F.A.Q.

Q: Is it possible to smoke indoors?

A: There is no smoking indoors as we will have to do a full deep cleaning of the room before our next guests arrive and as such anyone caught smoking indoors will face a room charge of 1 day

Q: Is the house empty and we can just pick up the keys?

A:  Heron House is partially staffed with a focus on there being staff to make breakfast and do some light cleanings in the morning while in the afternoons there is a quick sunset turn down service (with a cute wiener dog running around on some days as well) with the option to reserve a private bartender for your group when desired.  Should you wish for additional privacy then we can always make arrangements to operate on a skeleton staff and give you your space, but otherwise our team is available to you to cater to your every whim. Just let us know what works best for you!

Q: Is breakfast available?

A: Yes, breakfast is included in the room rate and can be customized around your needs and dietary restrictions. We love baking our own bread on the premises daily to be served with some eggs or home made jams, but if you want something more local we can arrange for some Banh Mi or Cao Lau to be waiting for you with a cappuccino when you roll out of bed or likewise if you prefer to cook your own brekky than we can always stock up the fridge for you in advance.

Q: Can we plan our own meals at Heron House?

A:  We will often coordinate delivery or take out meals from our favourite places to be plated at Heron House upon request, and should guests wish to order in a pizza on their own no problem.  For guests wishing to hold a bbq for non guests,  all other meals and events at the house must be coordinated by the management and are subject to relevant service and cleaning fees

Q: Is there a full restaurant menu available during the day?

A: We do not maintain a full restaurant on the premises but ‘Chef Loic’ can customize a meal for you and your party with advanced notice based upon dietary restrictions and general preferences.  Due to supply restrictions in Hoi An, please allow 36 hours to coordinate any fish meals and 7 days to coordinate any amazing meals for carnivores ideally. Please note that we also do not keep any set menus on site as each meal is tailoured to our individual guest’s desires and our kitchen strives to only work with organic seasonal vegetables and the highest quality fresh proteins whenever possible.

Q: Is there a bar at Heron House?

A: YES, the best bar in Cam Chau as a matter of fact. Guests love our selection of home made infusions, classic cocktails, local craft beers, and full wine catalogue but for those looking to bring in alternative drinks, we can make alternative arrangements once guests coordinate with the management.

Q: Can we hold some late night parties?

A: We always welcome fun guests however we ask everyone to please be mindful of noise levels at night as we live in a sleepy rice farming village and we wish to remain respectful of the early sleeping times of our neighbours so we tend to discourage loud parties after 22h each night.

Q: Can we bring more than 2 adults in each room?

A: We love having big fun groups but we generally discourage any guests from sleeping more than 6 adults (2 per suite)  on any night.  For special cases, advanced permission with the owners is required and guests will be charged a surcharge of $40 per night for each additional party comer

Q: What if I happen to come back tipsy one night and break something. Will I lose my security deposit?

A: Accidents happen and we fully understand. The management will not charge any markups on damages to the house or keep the whole deposit, but any damage to the House or loss of any Heron House equipment will result in a corresponding damage fee to replace or repair said items.

Q: What documentation is required to stay at Heron House?

A:  All guests must be asked to provide some official identification upon arrival so that we can register all our happy guests with the local communal authorities in line with the laws of the government of Vietnam.  All foreigners must hold a valid passport while for Vietnamese nationals a current identification card will suffice

Q: What else is included in the nightly rate?

A:  Free flow complimentary water, use of bicycles, full remote concierge services, staff help with planning any special occasions, and of course outdoor movie nights with advance notice (and depending on the weather)
