Not surprisingly, Van Anh and Loic love traveling around the world and are always happy to explore different cultures. Needless to say that over the course of their many travels, they have found some truly great places that they are always happy to recommend to their guests and with this in mind, we thought it was finally time to share some of our experiences with like minded travelers looking for a genuine experience
***Please note, there is no rhyme or reason for each place, but rather just the places in this big blue world that we love and at the end of the day, those places that we hope our friends can also fall in love with during their exodus from the pains of reality.
In Asia:
Siem Reap, Cambodia:
Maison Polanka is a beautiful 6 bedroom luxury boutique hotel set in a massive garden tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap. Each room and the grounds have been lovingly decorated with chic design pieces made by local artists and there are always helpful staff ready to coordinate anything you might need on your holiday.
Palawan, Philippines:
Tao Philippines is all about the luxury of simplicity as guests sail between uninhabited sandy islands between Coron and Eli Nido. There is no internet, telephones, or any trappings of modern day life. Instead, you get pristine aquamarine waters, sail and swim all day, and build large bonfires at night on remote tropical islands. Comes highly recommended for adventurers
Ella, Sri Lanka:
Ella Planters Bungalow was a delightful find in our wanderings around Sri Lanka as some of their rooms are based in an old colonial house, while the newer rooms face out over the green valleys of Ella. The staff, pool, views, and cooking at night are all quite frankly exceptional and our only regret was that we did not take more time to stay here.
Ha Giang, Vietnam:
Pan Hou Eco Village is a truly special concept in Vietnam as the village has been lovingly set up around stepped lotus ponds with a big emphasis placed on nature and it surroundings. Set in a remote area of Ha Giang Province, the village still boasts all the same charms that Sapa once did and aside from nature hikes, the spa, and the pony that you will see roaming the property, this is simply the best and only place we would strongly recommend if you are traveling to the North of Vietnam.
In Europe:
Naxos, Greece:
The Ostria Inn is our home away from home. We were married there and became utterly and hopelessly addicted to spending time in Moutsouna. Each of the rooms has been lovingly decorated with care and are located just across the lane from a delicious sandy beach, but moreover it is the hosts Eirini and Konstantinos that make this place truly magical. The kitchen, location, and all around ambiance call us back every year!
